HP Casting Geekdom
Sooo...I'll admit it. I'm totally geeked out about the "Snape's Worst Memory" scene for OotP. I was quite pleased with the pictures of the kid who will be playing Sirius, James Walters. There have been plenty of pictures of him posted, which has distracted me from the fact that no pictures of James Utechin (Remus) have shown up yet. I check IMDb once a week or so, and Wikipedia, but there's been nothing so far. Tonight, however, I checked Wikipedia again and there was a picture...but I've seen that picture before, under another name- Stuart something-or-other. Stuart Hastings, that's it. This was several months ago, when that was the name listed as Remus. I still haven't seen any others, so I don't know if this is correct. I'd be happy if it is- I've been cringing over the casting possibilities (oh, David Thewlis. You've been so wonderful in other movies, but porn-stache whyeeee!). Anyway. /geek | | Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005 | | 5:01 am |
Title: Cold March Evening. Author: franticbabbles Pairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 1,490. Rating: NC-17. Disclaimer: Not mine. Never were. If they were I'd at least buy Remus a coat. Author's Notes: Inspired by sexual frustration. Warnings: Fluff and PWP galore. I think I will be revising this shortly. It seems lacking something, because I finished it around 7 in the morning and just wanted it to be done. So- revision. Also, I just discovered a hideous glaring typo (had accidentally deleted the last two letters in Sirius's name, producing the dreaded "Siri", for which I may never forgive myself. National Beta Appreciation Day.
I don't have an official beta, but I tend to use the people who are reading as a sounding board, so I think they all count as my betas. So I want to say thank you to every person who has ever commented with constructive criticism- I always listen, I always appreciate it, and you lot are brilliant and make me think so carefully over every word I write. You give me ideas when I have no idea why a scene isn't working, and have made my year (to the day, actually!) writing in this fandom a joy. Thank you! | | Monday, October 10th, 2005 | | 3:36 am |
Drabble for Rina's Birthday.
He’s not supposed to be here. Sirius isn't supposed to be here either, he's hidden, but he knows for a fact Remus Lupin is not supposed to be in this battle, no way and no how. He's supposed to be here even less than Sirius is. And yet, somehow, here he is. His long, skinny body is unfolding out of nowhere and he is dodging spells here and twisting there, and oh Sirius has never seen Remus like this before. For a second his face is so unrecognizable that he feels a desperate hope that it’s not him- just a bloke who happens to have the same brown hair and dark flat eyes- but no, there’s that fading red mark on his neck, a token of love Sirius gave him three nights before when they were in the shower. He’s pale- blazing furious white, eyes enormous in the floating dreamy green light of twenty or thirty Killing Curses. The house, destroyed and falling down around them, suddenly seems to be merely a background, and Remus stands out in sharp relief against shattered glass and beams of wood. Power almost crackles around him. Sirius has always had the vague idea that he has rather underestimated Remus’s ability- easy to do because Remus likes to have people underestimate him so he can take them by surprise. But he has never seen Remus do what he is doing now- they have purposefully never been in battle together and he has never paid much mind to those who say they want Lupin on their team. Of course they want Moony on their team, Moony is brilliant about plans. But this is not the man in whose arms he falls asleep at night. There is something alien and frightening about Remus just now, and when he starts in on those who are wearing masks, his movements concise and his spells silent and accurate, Sirius knows what it is. Remus. Remus is enjoying himself. Soundtrack: "Change (In the House of Flies)", Deftones. | | Wednesday, September 14th, 2005 | | 12:34 am |
First Year. Title: First Year. Author: franticbabblesPairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 3,615. Rating: G. Disclaimer: All our base are belong to you, JK Rowling. Author's Notes: This is a present for my darling mumsy. Warnings: Er...none? This is the first fic I've written in ages with no sex or swearing. I actually sort of think I'm losing my touch. ( HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! ) | | Monday, August 29th, 2005 | | 11:30 pm |
All right, my fellow fanfic writers and readers. I'm having a bit of a crisis, because I really want to write, but I'm not coming up with any plot bunnies. Anybody have any bunnies they might want to breed with my bunnies? Any ideas, anything you've been wanting to read in particular? I will try to incorporate all suggestions...as long as it has nothing to do with The Prank (myeh, stupid Prank, thwarting me). | | Thursday, August 4th, 2005 | | 3:54 am |
The Middleword. Title: The Middleword. Author: franticbabblesPairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 2,481. Rating: NC-17. Disclaimer: Not mine. Especially now. Author's Notes: This is for Cate. Warnings: As always, sex and swearing and all those other delightful things. So, I've updated. I've edited until I can't edits no more. Somebody tell me if it's too goopy, though, okay? I'm sorry I haven't responded to anybody's comments yet, but I wanted to wait until I was done with it, because hooooly crap, I'm such a bad fanfic author, waiting six months between stories. ( ...and then I saved someone from a burning building, and that's why I haven't written fanfic in such a long time. ) | | Wednesday, March 16th, 2005 | | 1:20 pm |

Right then, because I like this meme (the Unmasking of the Fanfic Writers HUZZAH!), and because I really, really like taking stupid pictures of myself and posting them, I give you picspam. Many apologies to those who have already seen them, and to those who don't want to see them. Also, it looks like there was a three-way tie for the voting on the commentary thing, so in a little bit I'll be posting the commentary on the first story. Here's me, after I got my hair cut a few weeks back. This is me in my more natural habitat: in front of the computer, eating cereal in my pajamas. And me and the cat, discussing his bad hygiene. Le Cat is a very reliable source of entertainment. | | Monday, March 14th, 2005 | | 7:02 pm |

Title: Untitled, So Far. Author: franticbabblesPairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 2430. Rating: NC-17. Disclaimer: No, really. I'm pretty sure JK wouldn't approve. Author's Notes: Ack. Still, with the blushing. Warnings: Spanking. Christ, my face is some color redder than red. Vermillion. Update...not quite done by dawn, but it's 7:36, so close enough. Lord, I'm exhausted. I keep promising myself I won't post something I've written when I'm this tired, but I want to post this now. I'm sure, as per my usual, I'll hate it when I wake up in a few hours, but until then... ( More like puce than vermillion, actually... ) | | Sunday, March 6th, 2005 | | 11:53 pm |
First, let me show off the icon my roommate made me. *preens shamelessly* Okay, SO- I'm in the middle of writing a spanking fic (which will be duly labeled so no, mum, you don't have to worry about accidentally reading it) which should be done in a day or so, but in the meantime I just realized I had two drabble-ish things that I never posted here, as they were comment fics. This one is the response to raelala's 1001 Places Remus and Sirius Defiled Hogwarts in Many Interesting and Complicated Ways. A Comedy challenge back in January. This one I wrote (while a leeetle intoxicated last night, if you can't tell) for sheafrotherdon's kissing challenge. Right then, back to the spanking. | | 11:22 pm |

Shamelessly yoinked from sheafrotherdon, because I am also sneaky. OR AM I? Mwaha...ha? Ask me one question - any one - about my writing, then post this in your LJ so I can satisfy my curiosity about yours. | | Tuesday, February 15th, 2005 | | 6:38 am |
Title: Remus J. Lupin, Sneaky Bastard. Author: franticbabblesPairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 4344. Rating: NC-17. Disclaimer: Not canon, unless JK's ever planning on writing the epic "Everything That Ever Happened to Remus J. Lupin". Author's Notes: This was written for raelala, and was supposed to be done by midnight on Valentine's Day. HOWEVER, as you can see it's a little bit late. Warnings: Boysex YAY! >:). Mwahahaha finished. ( In which Sirius expresses his affection for chocolate cake... ) | | Wednesday, February 2nd, 2005 | | 12:21 am |
More Non-Fic-Type Stuff.
Since I couldn't very well do this meme on my regular livejournal, I decided to take it to the streets, beeyotch. Well, to my fanfic lj anyway. Same thing. Anyway, I stole this meme from sheafrotherdon, raelala, and starstillwonder, who were all very nice and put me on theirs (which makes me a little wobbly). However, as per my usual, I fiddled around with the meme, considering I cannot possibly confine myself to only 5, when my folder has at least two hundred. I'm extremely, extremely picky about which fics I save to my folder, so all of them are fics that either made me cry (very rare), made me give the Woobie Face (scarcely much more common, although Cate has seen it a time or twenty), or made me want to grab the nearest guy and just shag him senseless against a wall (at the very least a weekly occurence). Whew, this is going to take a long time. Top Ten Eight Fics That Make Me CryThe Shape of His Hands, by Nyx Fyxx. Untitled, by lupercali. The Past is Mine, by Cenori. Sticky, by Kitty Levina. "Written By Hand", by setissma, which I can't link to right now because skyehawke hates me. Midnight Conversation #6, by thistlerose. Every Sunday Should Be Like This, by my lass sheafrotherdon. The Year Without Faeries, by sheafrotherdon. Paper Wings, by krislaughs. Top Ten Fics That Make Me Give the Wooby FaceWho Wrote the Book, by Canis M. A Puff of Breath, by Nyx Fyxx. MmmmNecrophilia, by auburn_crimson. Rainy Night, by Raina (this fic and the one below it have to be searched for under "Harry Potter" fanfiction, but boooy are they worth it). Sunny Afternoon, by Raina. The Arrangement, by maybethemoon. Waiting for Ganymede, by Canis M. "Just Breathe", by setissma, which I can't link to right now because skyehawke hates me, but which is utterly gorgeous. The Great Mud-Dunking Tussle of 1978 (and other tales), by sheafrotherdon. The Three Sleepless Nights of Sirius Black, by sheafrotherdon. Top Ten Fics That Make Me Wish There Were a Handy Penis AroundAwakening, by Donna Imaculata. Control in Still Moments, by lyra_sena. The Man in the Moon, by Thamiris. One Thing if You Offer, by Leandra. Doubt the Curve of the Earth, by the Lurvely starstillwonder. Undone, by librae. Set on Fire, by Rochefort (I try very hard to ignore the fact that hair gel is used as lubricant, because...sticky, sticky everywhere). The Collar, by fandom_pillory. Defining Accio, by anniesj. Caught in the Act, by anise_anise. I feel duty-bound to mention that I excluded drabbles from this category, or it would have been "Top 100" easily (particularly Cate's thing about the glasses. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. The strawberry one too. Okay, let's just add raelala's 1001 Ways Challenge to the list, and that'll about cover it). Top Ten Bestest Icons Ever MadeHow did this happen? One person swept the category, not allowing a single other contestant to surface. Who is this icon-making wunderkind? Why... raelala, you scamp you! She of the single coolest Tomato Nation thing (scroll down to the very bottom) ever in existence. Sarah Bunton needs to see that icon and make it her own. I'm also a big fan of "cock". In so many more ways than one, but specifically the Cock icon (dude, the rooster has glasses). | | Monday, January 24th, 2005 | | 1:44 am |
THE MOONYBELLYTitle: The MoonyBelly Author: franticbabblesPairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 1747. Rating: R. Disclaimer: Damn, I wish this was canon. Author's Notes: This was written for raelala, sheafrotherdon, and starstillwonder, my Fictional Lesbian Writers-in-Arms (and Boobies). Warnings: Belly fetish. Oh, man, do I love Moonybelly. ( Mmmmbelly )Soundtrack: "My Love is Like Wo", Mya. | | Thursday, January 20th, 2005 | | 11:31 pm |

SICK AS A DOGTitle: Sick as a Dog Author: franticbabbles Pairings: Remus/Sirius Word Count: 3525. Rating: PG. Disclaimer: I quite seriously doubt this is what Rowling intended her characters to be doing. Author's Notes: Can be taken as part of the arc, following Patience, Stillness, King for a Day, Not This Day, This One, and Homecoming. But can also be taken on its own, because it's a bit different from the rest. For example, there's no sex. Sorry, everybody. Warnings: Some pretty terrible, melodramatic foreshadowing. No, really. UPDATE WHEEEEE. I think I like this better. Thank you very much to all who gave me suggestions, particularly perlee_grace, jazzypom, krislaughs, and sheafrotherdon, and gothicauthor for the excellent spell. Also, to my roommate pengke, who brought up the fact that the present-tense POV wasn't really working in this fic. If anybody notices a place where the present tense is still used, please mention. I think I got them all, but they're sneaky buggers. ( Off to the possibly still not-great fic, but not as bad as before... ) |
